With its resources, accessibility, openness, partnerships and innovation capacity, UQAT creates, transmits and mobilizes a diversity of knowledge and contributes to the development of skills in order to participate in the development of individuals and communities in its home territories, as well as on a national and international level.
With world-renowned expertise in several fields, UQAT professors have distinguished themselves both through their numerous collaborations and through the excellence of their work. UQAT is a Francophone university with multilingual teams and services active in training, research and research-creation in many countries. It has more than a hundred agreements with various universities worldwide and welcomes several hundred students from some forty countries each year.
UQAT International coordinates actions in the field of internationalization and instills an intercultural and international dimension in the activities of the schools, institutes, teaching and research units, various services, campuses and centres, whether through the provision of training, research, services to the community and the implementation of agreements, policies, procedures and regulations.

The main mandates of UQAT International
- To ensure the implementation and coordination of actions from the Internationalization Plan in collaboration with the various stakeholders;
- To assist and support the University's different schools, institutes, teaching and research units and services in the elaboration of international development strategies;
- To provide advisory services to module and program directors, as well as to professors wishing to establish national and international partnerships;
- In collaboration with the General Secretariat and the Vice-President, Teaching, Research and Creation (VRERC), to develop and provide the academic community with tools to facilitate the implementation or renewal of partnership agreements at the national and international levels;
- To monitor all of the University's agreements with foreign institutions and partners in order to meet our commitments to them;
- To represent the University in various national and international networks;
- To ensure a strategic watch on internationalization, the globalization of universities and the funding programs available to promote the internationalization of UQAT;
- To support the Communication and Recruitment Service by collaborating in the promotion of UQAT abroad for outreach and recruitment;
- To support Student Services and the Registrar's Office and to collaborate in the implementation of logistical procedures related to the welcoming and integration of international students as well as to the assistance to students who wish to study abroad.
UQAT International has an Advisory Committee made up of members of the academic community. This committee supports UQAT International Services in the deployment of the Internationalization Plan 2021-2026. Members are mobilised on the basis of their experience. They can be consulted on different actions to be implemented and they represent UQAT's interests, regardless of their department, service or association. The Advisory Committee is informed of the methods, analyses and ongoing projects.
