Val-d’Or, September 14, 2007 — Members of the Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue (UQAT) Board of Directors have officially designated Mr. André Bellavance as the interim Vice-President (Resources). This new challenge motivates the incoming Vice-President. “The management of resources is a major challenge, in the present circumstances.” he stated. In his new capacity, Mr. Bellavance will manage UQAT’s resources in Abitibi-Témiscamingue and in northern Québec from an office in Rouyn- Noranda and another in Val-d’Or.

Mr. Bellavance’s role within the institution has evolved since 1998, first as a professor in the Educational Sciences UER, and as administrator of the Specialized Graduate Degree in school administration. In 2005, he became the Director of the UQAT campus at Val-d’Or, until his recent appointment as Vice- President (Resources).

Ms. Janet Mark will replace Mr. Bellavance as the Director of the Val-d’Or campus, in an interim capacity. Since 2002, Ms. Mark has held the positions of Research Officer, Liaison Officer, and up until very recently, Coordinator of First Nations Services.
